Web Maintenance

Due to a change in web provider, some portions of the Pirate's Pub website may be down for maintenance. The gallery may be unavailable for the next few days as I convert these files to a new gallery system.

Thanks,
Your Webmaster

Web Maintenance

This website is being moved to a new provider, so portions may be unavailable for a few days. This will most likely affect the gallery more than the other pages.

New Date to Keep Open: 27 August

Here is the next date to keep open: 27 August. Theme to be determined, but since we missed D-Day this year, expect to storm the beaches of Normandy - or whatever beach is available. There will be much to celebrate: Kim's B-Day, Dan's triumphant return from NYC, kids' returning to school. etc. Watch this space for announcements and the 'events' page for details as they become available....

Thanks for coming to 7 de Mayo

Thanks again to everyone who came out to the latest Pirates' Pub event: 7 de Mayo. Special thanks go out to this evening's featured act, The Falling Blue - who have been proclaimed the house band for the pub. A video sample of the act will be posted soon, but in the meantime, relive the experience with pics from the gallery. Update: Read more about The Falling Blue at www.thefallingblue.com.

Keep May 7th Open

Most people know about the events of cinco de mayo that cause us in America (and nowhere else) to enjoy nachos, crappy beer, and distilled spirits that contain vermiculture, but what about siete de mayo? Ponder all of the great things to celebrate on the seventh:

1915: The British ship Lusitania is torpedoed by a German submarine off the Ireland coast; 1,198 people are killed, increasing sentiment in the United States to join World War I.
1945: German Nazi forces surrender unconditionally to U.S. General Dwight D. Eisenhower's army in Reims, France; the European phase of World War II officially ends the next day.
1960: Leonid Brezhnev becomes president of the Soviet Union.
1994:
The masterpiece The Scream, by Norwegian painter Edvard Munch, is recovered undamaged nearly three months after it was stolen.

Those sound like can't-miss reasons to party if there ever was one. So keep May 7th open on your calendar and watch this space for time, theme, and RSVP information.

Cheers!
